The tradition of coffee production has been in the Barbosa Family since the twentieth century. A family of farmers - everyone from father, mother, sons, daughters and in-laws - work to the same end. Danilo Barbosa, jointly with his sons, represent the fifth generation of family coffee production.

The Rainforest Alliance farm is located in Minas Gerais, Cerrado Region, characterised by its altitude and climate. The conditions led to research by the farm on varietals, with a subsequent focus on Red and Yellow Catuai and Icatu, Mundo Novo, Acaua and Caturra only. Working with natural and pulped natural processes, they have also been experimenting on Honey.
