The SNNP region of Southern Ethiopia has developed a reputation for fine coffees. The Worka Wuri washing station, located near Gedeb town, is one of a number of producers creating some of the most sought-after microlots in the world.
The highly regarded status of Yirgacheffe coffees is supported by the high growing altitude (up to 2,200 MASL in some areas), fertile soil, consistent and plentiful rains and knowledgeable producers working the land.
Ethiopia is famed for its indigenous Heirloom varietals, which are responsible for the unique flavour notes that help to create an unusual and refined cup.
